CliffPicture (100x100)Clifford Morris is CEO/President of Florida Organic Aquaculture, a high-tech, biosecure shrimp farming and research company with facilities located in Vero Beach and Fellsmere.  He not only presides over the scientific integrity of the project, but also promotes its potential as a cutting-edge business investment, garnering international investors through his Jupiter-based company, Mirzam Investor Greencard, LLC.  This is a U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services-designated regional center in Florida that sources foreign investors for projects in the United States.

In the summer of 2011, Cliff and his executive team discussed ways on how to give back to the community.  They wanted to create outreach programs that would help the City of Fellsmere, the Treasure Coast region, and the state of Florida, while promoting opportunities in aquaculture.  The FL Research, Development, and Training was developed.  This nonprofit turned into Florida Aquaculture Foundation, a 501c3 organization, a year later.  Cliff continued his support in an advisory capacity, although he is not involved in direct management of the Foundation.

Through the Foundation, revenue-generating projects on aquaculture, hydroponics, and aquaponics are offered to farmers, entrepreneurs, interested individuals and groups.  Collaborative efforts with colleges and universities have been created to promote the study of aquaculture, along with certificate programs being offered.  Research scientists and aquaculturists share their sustainable farming methodology and techniques in workshops offered by the Foundation, along with literacy programs and life-learning skills.  The Foundation also supports STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) in aquaculture education and demonstrates this to primary and secondary students through sponsored field trips.
